Within the framework of the common activity of the Network, some proposals of the research projects have been worked out and submitted to the EU Programmes. Moreover the international working meetings have been organised, the magazines of the Network has commenced to be published, bringing the results of the research works of the scientific institutions – members and partners of the Network.

ERDN has received financial aid from the Polish Committee of the Scientific Research in the framework of the research task: International co-operation in the form of the scientific network “Rural development in the Central-Eastern Europe”.

At present the Network undertakes efforts aimed at common elaboration of research topics in the spheres strategic for the rural development and gaining new institutional partners.

The basis for future research is constituted by the outcomes from previously organised seminars devoted to “Alternatives for European Rural Areas”,  “Changes in functioning of rural areas in the Baltic countries”, “Rural Development Capacity in Carpatian Europe” and "Endogenous factors stimulating rural development".
